Congressional Republicans continue to work toward legislation to extend and expand provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as well as incorporate some of President Trump’s tax-related campaign promises. House Republicans had planned to unveil a single package of tax and other provisions by this point but the party’s various factions haven’t yet come to an agreement. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are moving forward with a two-bill approach. Senate Budget Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently released a budget resolution that would provide funding for a border wall, immigration enforcement and the military. A second bill would tackle tax reform later in the year. Stay tuned.
