Are taxes too high? In a survey taken earlier this year, roughly two-thirds of people said “yes” when asked about federal, state sales and local property taxes. The survey was taken by the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Only about one-quarter of those polled felt their taxes are well spent. “Whether it is local, state or federal taxes, most people want lower taxes and are skeptical of the value they receive from these taxes,” said Principal Research Scientist David Sterrett. He added that many people believe these taxes are unfair and most burdensome on middle-income families. Here’s more: https://bit.ly/4bBXpoe
