This year’s tax season is open! On Jan. 29, the IRS started accepting and processing federal tax returns. The regular filing deadline is April 15, but taxpayers can apply for an extension to file by Oct. 15 by submitting Form 4868. Understand that an extension to file isn’t an extension to pay. To help avoid possible penalties, you should estimate and pay any taxes you owe by the regular April 15 deadline. The IRS expects 146 million returns to be filed this year. Contact us for an appointment to prepare your return. The sooner you file, the sooner you can remove the task from your to-do list and receive any refund you’re owed.
