Some groups of people face bigger challenges than others when looking for work. At the same time, many employers are struggling to fill jobs. The IRS is reminding businesses of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) that may answer both needs. The WOTC is a valuable one-time credit for each new hire from a group that has employment barriers. To claim a WOTC, an employer must submit a form to their state’s workforce agency and obtain certification showing the individual is a member of a targeted group. These groups include: qualified veterans, qualified long-term recipients of unemployment or family assistance, ex-felons and others. Here’s more from the IRS: https://bit.ly/3VzFveN
