Puerto Rico disaster relief

The IRS is providing disaster tax relief to victims of severe storms in Puerto Rico. This includes those hit by storms, flooding and landslides that started on Feb. 4, 2022, in the Puerto Rico municipalities of Catano, Dorado, Toa Baja, Vega Alta and Vega Baja. Affected individuals and businesses now have until June 15, 2022, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during the relief period. This includes 2021 tax returns, IRA contributions, quarterly estimated tax payments normally due on April 18, and more. Penalties on payroll and excise tax deposits due on or after Feb. 4 will be abated if the deposits were made by Feb. 22. Contact us with questions.
